Album Engineered by Cenzo Townsend, Jon Gray and Kenny Patterson EXTRA NOTES So, three years down the line from Dizzy Heights, but has Ian Broudie delivered the goods to make a quintessential Lightning Seeds album. Well kind of, and yes and no. I'll deal with the "no" bit first. Some of the album, like tracks like "Life's Too Short" are more dance orientated. "Sweetest Soul Sensations" and "I Wish I Was In Love" see Ian playing about with the sampler machine. He sampled Al Green ("Simply Beautiful") and Peter Green - era Fleetwood Mac ("Man of the World") respectively. Which moves us on to the "yes" bit. Some tracks are still very Lightning Seeds. The stand out track, "Tales of the Riverbank", and features live drums and is written about the Liverpool dockers. "All The Things" is another virtually live track. "Cigarettes and Lies" sounds very John Lennon-esque, and "If Only" sounds a little like Sense, and is a welcome addition to the album. Related Links Singles
