EXTRA NOTES

Yes!!! At last after five long years of waiting for Ian Broudie to release something it's finally happened. With no definitive word as to whether the Lightning Seeds had actually split, we were left in the wilderness. It had seemed all hope had gone as Ian had been producing The Coral, The Zutons (both of which back him on a track or two on this album) and many more.

This album arrived in October 2004 and worth the wait it was. This is Broudie returning to his roots with traditional instruments - real drums, acoustic guitars, fiddles etc with no studio trickery. Broudie's guitar work as always is spot on, and this is the most down beat album he's made. This is no bad thing, it has a fantastic folky feel to it.

Song For No One, along with Got No Plans, are reminders of just how good a pop tune Ian could knock out and are direct descendant of his Lightning Seeds days - a good connection between those days and this album. Tales Told is Telling Tales retold.
